Kostadin Tanusev is a contemporary Macedonian artist, living and working in Germany. He discovered his talents as an artist early in life, growing up in a family of artists and craftsmen. By the age of eight, Tanusev was illustrating his own comic books, and by age 14, he was drawing posters for advertising campaigns. After school, the young artist joined the military where he developed his interest in tattoo arts. He emigrated to Germany in 2001, where he continued to develop his artistic interests. He has been focusing exclusively on painting since 2015, where he uses several different techniques and methods, including oil painting, acrylics, and dry pastels. Tanusev draws from Cubist influences, as was impression, futurist, and pop art styles, to create contemporary geometric works.
As an internationally distinguished artist, Tanusev has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions around the world over the past twenty years. His first group exhibition was in 2001 in north Macedonia, and since he has shown in New York, Crete, and Monaco, among other cities. In his work, he expresses emotions of pain, grief, and joy, and has drawn influence from his personal experiences, including the Civil War in Yugoslavia. When he is not painting, he enjoys other artistic hobbies such as graphic design and tattooing.
